The battle-damaged German M35 helmet used in this piece was recovered from Stalingrad. The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the most brutal and defining battles of the Second World War.
Originally produced as a double-decal example, the helmet would have displayed both the national tricolour shield and the Wehrmacht eagle. It was later field overpainted in accordance with a 1940 German High Command directive ordering decals to be removed or concealed to reduce visibility in combat. Remnants of the original national colours decal can still be seen beneath this wartime overpaint.
As much rust as possible has been removed from the helmet while keeping the character of the relic. Any remaining rust can be kept in check with the occasional coat of Renaissance wax or beeswax. Information on relic care will be provided with the lamp.
The bayonet is a WW2 German K98 recovered from Latvia. All rust has been removed and the pitting has been highlighted using black oxide. The bayonet has then been sealed with rust-blocking oil and wax.
The bullets are all inert WW2-era 7.92×57 polished and finished with an antique effect.
The M34/42 bullet belt is WW2 era.
The handmade base features a polished aluminium profile at the bottom with four stacked mild steel profiles above. These have been textured and finished with a hard-wearing ceramic black coating.
The brass components have been textured and finished with an antique effect.
All remaining metalwork is stainless steel.
The lamp is supplied with a 3-mode LED flame effect bulb.

The lamp has been professionally wired and has passed a UK PAT electrical safety test.
The lamp will operate on 80–240 volts, making it suitable for use worldwide.
The plug fitted is a UK 3-pin plug. A plug adaptor will be provided for buyers outside the UK so the lamp can be used straight away. However, it is recommended that the plug is changed to your country’s standard plug type when convenient.

Worldwide shipping is included in the price, the lamp will be shipped in a wooden crate fully insured for loss or damage.
